Our dream at Stems4Smiles is to place flower bouquets at the bedsides of the terminally ill all across the Dallas and Fort Worth area. Stems4Smiles assists anyone who wants to share the beauty of their event flowers with hospice patients and their families. For a service fee, we pick up your flowers immediately following your event, create/distribute patient bouquets, and provide you with a tax deductible receipt.

With a new vision to grow this organization, she has grown the nonprofit to reach more supporters and even more hospitals. She now leads this organization and hopes to reach and impact more patients in new ways.

The Drive
This previous summer, I had the distinct honor of being inducted into the volunteering program at Baylor Scott and White, where I was given the amazing experience of delivering flowers to patients. Each time I saw the patients receive a beautiful bouquet, their faces lit up with happiness. It seemed like all their sorrows disappeared by being given something as simple as an assortment of colored plants. So many patients forgot the intense procedures they had undergone or would undergo, and instead sniffed in the floral arrangements, filling their lungs with joy. It's amazing how far such a small thing could go, how much it could mean to someone else who needs to be shown that they are cared for. Seeing so many people so happy really made an impact on me, and is the reason why I want to start Stems4Smiles. Seeing the delight in times of hardship in the all these patients is my goal with this organization, and I hope that I can make a significant differences in all of their lives.

Our Misson

In July 2009, Stems4Smiles’ founder, Yash Harkara, had undergone his first adenoid surgery. While confined to his hospital room, the outpouring of support that Yash received in the form of daily visitors and dozens of floral arrangements immediately aided in his long recovery. Currently, he attends the University of the Incarnate Word School of Medicine in hopes of expanding his impact and bettering the lives of more patients!

Flowers brought to over 100,000 patients throughout the pandemic
Stems4Smiles receives floral donations of lightly used flowers from large events such as weddings, corporate galas, fundraisers and memorial services.
For a service fee, we will:
* Arrive immediately after your event.
* Collect your donated flowers, which includes dismantling large floral arrangements
* If interested, we will return the rented vases to your florist the following week. Please note, your florist must approve this as an option.
* Store the flowers overnight.
* Create small bedside bouquets, and distribute them to patients.
* Provide the donor with a tax deductible receipt.
